ÀLÀ

project overview
ÀLÀ is a fictional clinical skincare brand for melanin-rich skin, built by SLIIQQUE as a self-initiated concept project. “Àlà” is Yoruba for clean or pure. The brief we set ourselves: launch a premium skincare brand, led by a 10% niacinamide + 2% zinc serum, for the Lagos woman who already reads ingredient lists and shops The Ordinary, CeraVe or Paula's Choice, without launching a real product.

the challenge
Imported clinical brands like The Ordinary and CeraVe are formulated for temperate climates, and local “natural” brands lean on story over evidence. We positioned ÀLÀ between them, clinical warmth, a chemist who also understands Lagos humidity and melanin-rich skin, and held every image to a standard that makes a potential client ask who shot it.
what we delivered
A brand concept and strategy, mood board and brand guidelines; a five-product line; 12 product stills, 3 lifestyle images and 6 ad creatives; 4 posters, 14 mockups, two vertical-video storyboards and a landing page. Every image was written as a production brief, lens, light, film stock, composition, grade.

the takeaway
ÀLÀ's own line is that skincare should be proven, not promised, and we held the art direction to the same standard: the art direction is the deliverable, the images are its proof. ÀLÀ is concept work with no sales or audience figures, and we present it as exactly that.
